Children on 11/20/07

Children are amongst the most vulnerable members of our global society. The actions and decisions of the world profoundly impact their lives.

A day in the life of children around the globe:

Tabsum, 7, waited with her family in Mingora, Pakistan, for transportation to escape intensified fighting between the military and the Islamic militants.

A relative carried the body of a 6-year-old child for burial after her body was recovered at Padma village in the Barisal district of Bangladesh.

A French soldier explained the dangers of mines and unexploded ordnance to children during an awareness class in the Qarabagh district of Afghanistan.
